I would like to thank you for your interest in the Tarkio R-I School District and visiting this website. In the short time that I have been here, I can honestly tell you that I am impressed with the widespread support of our community and parents. I am also impressed with the dedicated staff and students who all work together to make Tarkio R-I an outstanding school district.

Our District has much to offer our students. Dual-credit offerings, various extra-curricular and academic activities, afterschool clubs, preschool, technology and continual building improvements. Tarkio has achieved the Distinction in Performance Award five times over the past ten years. The District has competed at the state level in sports and academics over the past years and the latest accomplishment came in 2009 when Tarkio won the State Academic Bowl title.

The 2010-11 school year marks my 26th year in education. I have an Associate Arts degree in building trades from Western Nebraska Tech, a Bachelor degree in Industrial Arts education from Kearney State, and both my Masters and Specialist Degree in Administration are from the University of Missouri in Columbia. Over the past 26 years, I was an Industrial Arts teacher for eight years, a principal for three years and Superintendent for 14 years. I have truly enjoyed my years in education and look forward to the experiences Tarkio has to offer.

In addition to working as the Superintendent, I also enjoy golfing, riding a motorcycle, fishing, working around the house and spending time with family, my wife and three grown children.

Please take time to visit our school, staff and students. We are proud of our school and our efforts to improve the facilities and student program offerings. Our goal is to continually strengthen the educational experiences for all students to insure our graduates become productive members of our society. By working together we can accomplish that goal. Your suggestions that would improve our efforts are always welcome.
